“Dreaming of Wuxi, Writing of Hong Kong” Wuxi–Hong Kong Youth Culture and Technology Exchange

To deepen Hong Kong youth’s understanding of China’s traditional culture and of the nation’s progress in science and innovation, Art Sailing Culture Association organised the “Dreaming of Wuxi, Writing of Hong Kong” Wuxi–Hong Kong Culture and Technology Youth Exchange, leading Hong Kong youth into Nanjing and Wuxi in Jiangsu Province for a five-day in-depth study journey.
The itinerary covered history and culture, intangible heritage, university exchange and technology experience. Members visited the Nanjing Museum and Huishan Ancient Town, feeling the cultural thread of Jiangnan among historic sites such as Jichang Garden and Huishan Temple; tried their hand at Huishan clay figurine making at the China Clay Figurine Museum; watched excerpts of Wuxi opera and tried on opera costumes, immersing themselves in the beauty of living heritage; visited Jiangnan University for candid dialogue with local students; and stepped into the Wuxi High-tech Zone exhibition centre to learn about frontier innovation and feel the strong pulse of national technological progress. They also toured Yuantouzhu and Lake Tai, learning through ecological restoration exhibits about the nation’s unremitting efforts in environmental protection and sustainable development. At the end of the journey, members visited the Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders, solemnly commemorating history and mourning the victims, and deeply appreciating how hard-won peace is.
Bridging cultures and winging itself with technology, the exchange allowed Hong Kong youth to read China on foot, deepen their sense of belonging through experience, and grow through exchange — fully embodying Art Sailing Culture Association’s mission to bring the younger generation of both places closer together.
