“Co-creating Together” 2026 Hong Kong Youth Culture and Technology Exchange to Hubei

Running along twin threads of culture and technology, this project led Hong Kong youth into Hubei — a land that carries a thousand years of Chu civilisation while surging with contemporary innovation. Participants visited Huazhong University of Science and Technology and its history museum to reflect on academic spirit and institutional development; toured the Wuhan Artificial Intelligence Computing Centre and Supercomputing Centre to understand the frontier layout of digital infrastructure; and visited the Institute of Optoelectronics, the Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics and the Hubei Longzhong Laboratory to discuss how frontier technological innovation drives industrial change, sparking young people’s imagination and enthusiasm for the technologies of the future.
Participants also visited the Xiangyang Science and Technology Museum and Museum to trace local technological development and historical accumulation, and wandered the ancient city walls and Guanjia Lane to experience Xiangyang’s historic streets first-hand and feel the city’s memory laid down over a thousand years. The itinerary also included a visit to Yuxu Palace on Mount Wudang, taking in the religious and architectural appeal of a World Cultural Heritage site, and an evening tour of Tang City for an immersive experience of the glory of the High Tang, sensing how traditional culture is expressed today through light and shadow.
The programme also featured dedicated youth exchange and discussion sessions, encouraging in-depth dialogue and a meeting of ideas between youth in Hubei and Hong Kong, broadening perspectives and deepening understanding through interaction while jointly building a new bridge for cross-regional youth cooperation. Through this diverse programme of visits and hands-on experience, students gained a deeper understanding of the nation’s development and cultural foundations beyond their campus experience, truly immersing themselves in this land of vitality and opportunity.
