“Splendid Yuexiu, Sailing Together” Culture and Technology Youth Exchange

Built around the theme “Splendid Yuexiu, Sailing Together”, this project focuses on the deep interweaving of cultural heritage and technological momentum. It led Guangdong and Hong Kong youth into Yuexiu District — the cultural heart of a city that has been a commercial capital for a thousand years — to trace the essence of Cantonese civilisation and its modern reforming spirit (the “cultural thread”), while at the same time stepping into frontier technology scenarios such as intelligent connected new-energy vehicles, low-altitude transport and AI-assisted driving (the “technological thread”). The aim is to prompt young people to re-examine the relationship between cultural inheritance and technological innovation through a dialogue between past and present, sparking cross-disciplinary thinking and a sense of social responsibility.
The programme also brought Guangzhou students to Hong Kong for in-depth exchange, exploring the city’s distinctive strengths in higher education, the innovation and technology industry, cultural depth and sustainable urban development. It works to build two-way interaction and emotional connection between youth in Guangzhou and Hong Kong, guiding them to experience Hong Kong’s diversity on the ground and to spark innovative thinking through professional dialogue, jointly shaping the responsibility and vision of a Greater Bay Area youth community and opening up new opportunities for future cooperation.
